Creating a Character
I just keep sketching...
I’m trying to create a little girl character. I like the one on the top left because I think her face portrays a certain sensitivity and vulnerability. Not so sure about the hair though. I think it’s too fluffy and the feathery ends will probably be a pain to keep drawing.
I also like the one on the bottom left. I think her face shows a spunky disposition. I’m not really going for spunky…but I do like her face. If I made her hair a bit more wild, I think she would look like a little-girl Janis Joplin. At least to me.
I think I like the above sketch the best. She seems compact and easy to draw repeatedly. Her features all seem to “fit” together. And I think her face has personality. I still need to try drawing the face character with the body. The body type will influence the personality too. So I’ll keep sketching and see what happens.
(*Btw…I actually made a video of me sketching and inking but the video was apparently too long. I couldn’t figure out how to edit it either. I finally just decided to put up the static pics. My frustration quota was used up for the day. I’ll try again another time. :) )

Sandra, love these character sketches! Also, “frustration quota”— yeah, I can totally relate!
It's reassuring to see someone else tackling the same considerations that I do....
